For over 20 years, our ski school has been recognised as being perfect for children. It is equipped to accommodate a maximum of 50 children, thereby focusing on quality rather than quantity. This is particularly important to Lisa Leitner, head of the ski school and the youngest woman to complete government-run ski instructor training in Austria. Along with her team of qualified ski and snowboard instructors, she shares the secret to mastering the slopes with students both young and old. To ensure your children are able to progress to the next level after a few days of training, we offer courses for total novices, as well as for the more advanced.

Every Saturday night, so before the ski lessons start on Sunday morning, we hold an info evening at the Tirolerhof with the head of the ski school and the ski instructors. Speaking directly to the instructors is the best way to find out the most suitable type of holiday for you and your children – the Ehrwald ski school provides classes for adults as well as children. Whether you’re coming back to skiing after a long time, starting from scratch or verging on expert level: one-to-one classes will allow anyone to greatly improve in terms of technique and finesse.

In the Zugspitz Arena, ski school starts at 9.45 am at the relevant meeting point. Between 10 am and 12 pm, it’s all about practice, practice, practice for the future ski pros – at the beginning in particular, the 3,000-square-metre practice area will get a lot of use. There’s a lunch break between 12 and 1.30 pm in our Confetti Alm, where tomorrow’s stars of the slopes can expect not only a balanced lunch that’s covered in your all-inclusive price, but also lunchtime supervision, a quiet room, games in the sports hall and a bouncy castle. Fully recharged, the afternoon class runs from 1.30 to 3.30 pm.

A spectacular conclusion to ski classes in Ehrwald

The undisputed highlight of the six-day ski course is the big graduation run on the Friday. The competition takes place on the slope right behind the hotel. Fans are always welcome, be they grandparents, parents or younger siblings, and they really won’t have to travel far. The young ski pros will then be celebrated properly at the subsequent awards and certificate ceremony. Want to guarantee a place in the ski school before arriving in Ehrwald? We recommend making a no-obligation booking in advance!

Are you not yet sure whether your kids will take to skiing at first? No problem! At our family hotel, we have the 100% happy-or-your-money-back guarantee, or you could call it the I-don’t-want-to-do-it-anymore money-back guarantee. We know from experience that learning to ski takes time and is physically tiring, so we take the pressure off your kids: if they’ve had enough fresh mountain air after just a couple of days and want to stop going to the ski classes, we’ll only charge you for the services you’ve used – simple and straightforward. After all, we know that flexibility is the key to the perfect family holiday in Ehrwald.

Tip: in the quieter winter period in January, between the school holidays, we put on beginners weeks with free taster classes for children aged six and under.
